Where we ship

The 48 contiguous states, all of them. Birds leave from Simsboro, Louisiana on an overnight service. The shipping by state directory has a page for every one, with the routing from here, the seasonal window that state's own climate imposes, and a note on incoming poultry requirements.

Alaska, Hawaii and international destinations are outside what we can do for live birds. That is a limit of moving animals safely rather than a preference.

When we ship

Weather decides. Heat is the greater risk of the two: a bird held in a hot facility or on an exposed tarmac is in real danger in a way a cold bird generally is not. Through the height of summer, southern and desert states close entirely. Through the depth of winter, the northern tier closes instead.

That is why the state pages exist rather than one blanket policy. The window for Florida is not the window for Minnesota, and pretending otherwise would get birds killed.

Live arrival

Birds are packed for the journey and we do not send anything that is not fit to travel. If there is a problem on arrival, contact us straight away with photographs, on the day of delivery, so we can sort it out while the facts are still clear.

Hatching eggs are a different matter entirely. Shipped eggs travel badly by nature and no honest seller guarantees a hatch rate on them. That is stated plainly on the hatching eggs page and again in the incubation guide.

Poultry import rules

States set their own requirements for incoming poultry and those requirements change. Buyers are responsible for confirming what their own state asks for before ordering. We will not guess at another state's regulations, and you should be wary of any seller who does.

Ordering

Orders are filled in the order they are received. Tell us the colour and age you want and your state, and we will confirm what is available and a realistic window. If nothing is available in the colour you want, ask to go on the list for the next hatch.
