Privacy
A small family farm runs this site. This page says exactly what it keeps, why, and how to have it deleted. If anything here is unclear, ask us.
What we keep
Orders. When you place an order we keep your name, email address, phone number, delivery address, any notes you add, and what you ordered. We need all of it to send you a live bird and to tell you when it is travelling. Orders are kept until the sale is complete and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records.
Unfinished checkouts. This one deserves plain language. If you start filling in the checkout and do not finish, we keep what you had already typed, including your name, phone number, email address and delivery address if you entered them. We do this so we can follow up an enquiry that stopped part way, which on a farm usually means telling you whether the birds you were looking at are actually available. We only keep fields you typed yourself. If you would rather we did not, do not fill the checkout in, or tell us and we will delete it.
What is in your basket. Your basket lives in your own browser. A copy of what is in it is sent to us with a random identifier, so we can see which birds people are looking for. That copy carries no name or address unless you have entered one in the checkout.
Live chat. Messages you send in the chat window, and the name and email you give it, so we can answer you and pick the conversation back up later.
Payment screenshots. If you upload proof of payment, we keep the image against your order.
Nothing about payment itself. There is no card processing on this site. We never see or store card numbers, because money is sent directly by Zelle or Apple Cash.
Who else sees it
We do not sell anything about you and we do not share it for advertising. Order details are seen by us, our email provider, and the courier who carries the bird. That is the whole list.
The site loads Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visited and which pages they read. It sets cookies and Google receives that data under its own terms. If you would rather it did not, any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics will stop it, and the site works exactly the same without it.
Getting it deleted
Email farm@sebastopolgeeseforsale.com and ask. We will delete what we hold about you, other than anything we have to keep for tax and business records on a completed sale. You do not need to give a reason and there is nothing to fill in.
Children
This site sells livestock to adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly keep information from anyone under 13.
Security
Orders, chat and enquiry records are stored outside the public part of the web server, so they cannot be fetched by anyone browsing the site. Any honest site says this: no store on the internet is impossible to breach, and we hold as little as we can get away with for that reason.
Changes
If we change how any of this works we will change this page. It is the only privacy statement for https://sebastopolgeeseforsale.com.
