Sebastopol Farm ships live Sebastopol goslings, hatching eggs, and adult geese nationwide from our Indiana breeding operation. We take shipping seriously and have designed our packaging and logistics specifically to maximize the safety and survival of every bird and egg we send. This page explains exactly how we ship, what our live arrival guarantee covers, and what we need from you to honor it.
Live Poultry Shipping Compliance
All live goslings ship via USPS Priority Mail Express in strict compliance with United States Postal Service Publication 52 (Hazardous, Restricted, and Perishable Mail Regulations). Under federal agricultural shipping exemptions, live day-old poultry is fully authorized for domestic air transit via USPS Priority Mail Express. This is a federal exemption specific to day-old poultry and is the same method used by licensed hatcheries across the United States.
Sebastopol Farm operates in full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and agricultural regulations governing the interstate transport of live poultry and hatching eggs.

Adult Geese Shipping Process
Adult Sebastopol geese ship via Delta Cargo, United Cargo, or specialized livestock ground transport depending on your location and preference. All adult birds are health cleared by our veterinarian before departure. Birds travel in airline approved kennel crates with food and water for the journey. Shipping costs for adult birds are quoted individually after your order is placed.
Live Arrival Guarantee
Sebastopol Farm provides a 100% live arrival guarantee on all day-old Sebastopol goslings shipped via USPS Priority Mail Express. If your goslings do not arrive alive we will replace them from our next available hatch at no charge or issue a full refund at your preference.
To qualify for our live arrival guarantee you must:
- Be available to pick up your goslings within 2 hours of the post office arrival call
- Notify us of any losses via email at info@sebastopolgeeseforsale.com within 4 hours of pickup
- Provide clear photographs of any deceased birds alongside the original shipping box and label
- Have not refused or delayed pickup beyond the 2 hour window
Our guarantee does not cover:
- Losses due to delayed pickup beyond the 2 hour post office window
- Losses reported more than 4 hours after pickup
- Hatching eggs (hatch rates are affected by incubation conditions beyond our control)
- Adult birds shipped via airline cargo (separate transport guarantee applies)
Refund Policy
Full payment is required to confirm all orders. Once payment is received your birds or eggs are reserved and removed from available inventory. Refunds are issued in the following circumstances:
- We are unable to fulfill your order due to insufficient inventory or breeding issues
- Your goslings do not arrive alive and you have met all live arrival guarantee requirements
- Your order is cancelled by Sebastopol Farm for any reason
Buyer initiated cancellations are non-refundable once payment has been received and your ship date has been confirmed. We begin preparing your order immediately upon payment confirmation.
Tracking and Notifications
All shipments include USPS tracking. Your tracking number will be sent to your email address and phone number on the day your order ships. You will also receive a ship confirmation email with your expected delivery date and post office contact information.
We ship Monday through Wednesday only to ensure your goslings do not spend a weekend at a postal facility. Orders placed Thursday through Sunday are queued for the following Monday ship date.
